Resources for Parents of Trans Young People
Websites, organizations, toolkits, books...
Updated March 25, 2026
I've compiled a non-exhaustive list of resources for people seeking guidance on supporting their young trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive/exploring children and other loved ones.
Please share other resources you know about! I’ll update the list.
Although many trans folx (including me) have been hurt by religion and religious institutions, I list affirming faith-based resources. I hope this is helpful to religious families or people with relatives who use religion to justify bigotry.
Resources marked with * are not youth/family-specific.
I don’t operate any of these, so if a link is broken, gone, or taken over by haters, please let me know! I’ve checked them as I wrote (Feb 12, 2025).

Thank you!
As a parent new to all of this I can't wait to look through these resources to better support my kiddo! Thank you for all of your hard work! (And I second the reply about Unitarian Universalist! Our congregation has been amazing and there are quite a few trans kids and adults!)
